Fiat Strada

This find isn't exactly "new"... I took these photos early this fall, but the car's still out there...
Anyway, in State College there is someone who uses this Fiat Strada as a semi-daily driver. I have yet to see it yet since the winter has gotten bad (unless it's desintegrated since then from salt). Really it's in pretty good condition considering how often this car is driven and that its not necessarily one of the most reliable products to come from the country of Italy. Still, I'm glad to see it out there. There arn't many people who care about entry level Fiat sedans from over 20 years ago... especially not in the US.

Thanks for the write up. What can I say, beats driving a chevy crap-olier every day to work. Has 111k on the clock and gets 39mpg. Unreliable? sure. But anyone with a set of wrenches can work on em. Do they rust bad? Yep, but how many 1981 citations do you see on the road? As far as the motor goes, couldn't kill it with a bullet. The reason these cars got a bad rap was that the american idea of vehicle maintenance was the occasional oil change. These cars need timing belt changes, valve adjusts, tranny fluid changes ect, ect religiously. If not, yeah they become a pain. I love the car. Gets more looks than my Lancia Scorpion did.

Holy damn, how did you find this?

Great to hear it's still running. I like the Ritmos/Stradas. They're in the same boat as Renault 5s (or Le Cars, as Americans prefer to call them) and the like-- they work great in Europe but something happens when they end up Stateside.

Do you have any other photos of it to contribute?
