The mystery car is a four door Fiat 128 which one can identify by the door handles or the plate in the engine bay. As for what happened to it, I have no idea.
And, this Fiat 125 was sitting down the field from it. This one appears to have suffered from an engine fire.
I took both photos about an hour outside of Messina, Sicily.
