Even here, the Alfa 6 isn't common. Introduced in 1979, it was the precursor to the 164. The name came from the engine, a 2.5 6-cylinder, later to be found in the GTV6 and the Milano. Later in the production it was available with a 2.0 6-cylinder or a 2.5 5-cylinder turbo diesel. Despite the elegant styling, the numerous standard features and the competitive price, the 6 never caught on and sales figures were small.
This series II 6 was seen in Rome.
